TRI Circuit is the national triathlon series for age groupers in Switzerland. The olmypic distance in Davos is the season's finale with an appropriate awards ceremony for the series winners. More information on www.tricircuit.ch (in German and French only).
The olmypic distance with a shorter bike leg due to the substantial altitude difference can be done as a single athlete (TRI Circuit Competition - needs a national triathlon licence) or as a relay (TRI Circuit Team).
The gun goes off at 10:40 am (maybe different starting waves).
The swimming takes place in Lake Davos. Start and finish of the swim are located at the public swimming area (lido) right next to the transition area. Full details will be provided in the athlete's guide (mid-June).
After the swim, athletes will be mounting their bikes to take on a 25km bike course, which will lead athletes up to the high mountain pass Flüelapass. Although the bike course is shorter in distance than in other Olympic distance triathlons, the time needed to complete this part of the race will approximately be the same as an Olympic distance triathlon elsewhere.
Please notice the turnpoint of the OD at Flüelapass (above illustration shows map of the middle distance race)
Athletes will complete their triathlon by running along the shores of Lake Davos before
heading towards the finish line. The run course is almost flat and fast and offerst enough space for all athletes.
Above race course illustations are subject to change.
The layout of the transition area will be published in the weeks to come.
